Anticipating acceptance of emerging technologies using twitter: the case of self‑driving cars
We present an analysis of risk and benefit perception of self-driving cars from March 2015 until October 2016.
These automotive dissertation examples are student-contributed and cover current research directions across vehicle technology, manufacturing, safety, consumer behaviour, and the shift to low-emission transport. Students often focus on how engineering choices, regulation, infrastructure, and market pressures interact to shape what gets designed, sold, maintained, and used.
Common dissertation areas include electric vehicles and charging access, battery performance and degradation, thermal management and safety, and how reliability is affected by real-world driving patterns. Many projects examine supply chain and manufacturing questions such as quality control, recall patterns, component traceability, and the impact of parts shortages on servicing and downtime. Consumer-facing dissertations frequently look at adoption barriers (price, range anxiety, charging availability), vehicle financing and affordability, second-hand EV markets, and trust in new mobility models such as leasing, subscriptions, or car sharing. Safety research often includes driver assistance systems, human factors, road safety outcomes, and how insurance and telematics shape driving behaviour. Environmental angles can include lifecycle emissions, recycling and end-of-life battery handling, and the credibility of sustainability claims across the automotive sector.
Use these automotive dissertation examples to build keywords such as EV adoption, charging infrastructure, battery degradation, reliability engineering, vehicle safety, telematics, recalls, quality management, and automotive supply chains.
