13).
The context of the foregoing in the sporting world is particularly significant in that football entails ‘sportsmanship'. The ethical aspect of a organization wide Corporate Social Responsibility program carries on at the individuals, organisational, industry, societal and international level, thus its applicability to football (Sims, 2003, p. 14):

Individual Level
We all experience ethical challenges at the individual or personal level.
Industry Level
An organization or manager also might influence business ethics at the industry level. At this level, professionals can refer to their professional association's charter code of ethics for guidelines on conducting business or the set of ethical practices of a particular industry, aspects that exist as a result of the Football Association, as an external factor.
Societal and International Levels
At the societal and international levels, laws, norms, customs, and traditions govern the legal and moral acceptability of behaviours. Business activities acceptable in Turkey or Russia may be immoral or illegal in the United States, and vice versa. At these levels it becomes very difficult for the individual manager to have any direct effect on business ethics. However, managers acting in concert through their companies and trade and professional associations can definitely bring about high standards and constructive changes. The greatest impact of managers can be felt through what they do personally or as members of the management team.
It is also important to recognize that managers have an important role to play as ethical role models for society. To the extent that they successfully convey to the public that they believe in the importance of integrity in business and throughout society
And therein lies the responsibility of leadership to bring to the club as well as establish the tone via which all of these processes are carried out. Leadership in a football organization seemingly is a natural outgrowth in that the purpose and existence of a club is to win. That takes leadership from the top and needs to be repeated at each level throughout the organization to generate that successful attitude which drives success. Karp (2003)

Chapter 6 - English Football and CSR
The commonalities of this examination of identity and Corporate Social Responsibility has its roots in the fact that both represent defining what an organization is, to enable it to devise a CRS to fit its identity.
