A Recommendation That Could Be Made Here Would Be For The Implementation Of ...

A recommendation that could be made here would be for the implementation of smaller scale events initially with participants in either one or from the same program in order to build a more effective sense of team-belonging within participants in the program. In the case of the mentoring problems indicated by respondents these are perhaps more worrying as it indicates a culture which may demean the status and roles of participants. A recommendation here would be for more effective mentoring training, evaluating and monitoring systems to ensure that the conduct of mentors are in line with the overall philosophy of the program. In terms of the international placements the difficulties indicated here are perhaps common to most internationally operating organisations in terms of the creation of an overall organisational culture which can be present in all of the countries where the company operates, (Debrah and Smith, 2002). A recommendation here would be to perhaps restructure such placements to emphasise instead of training a focus more on knowledge and bestpractice sharing which would avoid cultural differences and exploit respective cultural strengths within the organisation more effectively.

A final recommendation can also be made in terms of the particular context of this research is that the research itself might be considered as an effective ongoing evaluation of participant experiences within the program. Also while graduate experiences may in some ways be similar across different programs the researcher believes that conducting similar research on the other 11 programs, which was beyond the scale of this research, would be an effective assessment tool offering benefits to managers in identifying and resolving issues in the scheme as encountered by participants. As such this would further enhance the scheme in terms of its contribution to the organisational goals set out by the company for the recruitment program.
