A quick search on the UCAS website for JIT manufacturing courses reveals that there are no engineering schools providing specialist courses in the JIT and Kanban systems to the students. This makes it clear that there is potential market for JIT specializing modules in the UK academic institutions although modules on engineering management, manufacturing management, supply chain management cover JIT manufacturing as part of the module.
Professional training institutions on the other hand have numerous training organizations providing specialist training in JIT manufacturing and Kanban training. Leading examples in the professional training institutions include those that provide generic Kanban implementation training as well as those organizations pioneering in specific Kanban software application. A simple search on the Internet will provide countless options for training centres and course structure. This makes it clear that the processional training segment of the JIT manufacturing and Kanban training have many Kanban specific training institutions.
