Discussion Between The Schools Of The Results Is An Important Final Stage, ...

Discussion between the schools of the results is an important final stage, without which much of the value of the study will be lost. The researcher may then compare summary documents from a number of schools to identify broad trends and strategies for transition management that are generally successful or unsuccessful.
This work will thus not only be of value to individual schools, but also to LEA's and to policymakers. Educational researchers can not only gauge the relative success of transition in DT between Key Stages 2 and 3, but can develop theoretical models for explaining the results, on the basis of the experimental collection of data that this work involves.
Summary of Section 3:
A research pack, involving components aimed at provides of both key stages and at various members of teaching staff is a useful methodology for further investigation in to this area. The interpretation of results will be somewhat subjective, but given that much of the data collected takes the form of factual statements (e.g. We use QCA scheme of work 6b) or numerical predicted grades, comparison of results between schools is facilitated.Section 4: Conclusions
the limitations of this work are made clear, and a set of general conclusions are reached.
4.1 Limitations of this paper
The topics covered in this paper are extremely broad, and such a limited study cannot hope to include all of the relevant factors. Of particular note is the lack of any comparative methodology or data regarding transition between key stages in other subjects or at other levels. Additionally, the sources of information on which this paper is based are limited a result of the specialist nature of the topic studied. The conclusions reached by this study cannot be considered comprehensive because of these points.
The research methodology proposed is based on other educational research work, but this also has some important flaws which must be recognised. The study involves a great deal of work on the part of school staff, and participation is therefore at the expense of some planning and preparation time (although this is justified if it improves the effectiveness of teaching in the long term). Although the study is intended to be objective, in necessarily involves the subjective input of staff in different working environments, and relies on the summary produced by a single researcher for its conclusions and future usage. Additionally, a lack of previous work in this area means that the content of the research study are based on educated guesses and extrapolation from work in other areas. A pilot study, to identify potential problems and failings of the research study is therefore indicated before full implementation.
