As can be seen from the above table it is just less than 60 % for people with disabilities. It is however higher for BMEs and females at 69% and 72 %. Figures are worryingly low only in two cases, 9 % for people with disabilities for AL 1 (Health, Public Services and Care) for people with disabilities, and nil for males for the same learning area. AL6, on the other hand, which deals with Information and Communication Technology, has 100 % retention across all population segments. These results would certainly indicate a negative perception towards Area of Learning 1, possibly because of lower remuneration and greater working hours.
