There Is No Doubt That All Of These External Factors, Because Of Their ...

From the analysis that has been undertaken into the St Richard's Catholic Primary School, and areas identified as being in need of addressing to ensure that the school can implement the government's Every Child Matters agenda, we would make the following recommendations that should form part of their future strategy.
Leadership and chain of command It is essential that at both board of governor's and school staff level, that the school ensure there is a settled leadership upon which all other staff can rely upon for direction in the future, and which ensure equality of standards throughout all aspects of the education process.

SENCO. It is recommended that a member of staff be appointed as SENCO and that this should be their sole duty within the school. Whether this member is recruited internally or externally, an additional staff member will be required to facilitate this move. The purpose of this change will be to enable all pupils that have special needs to have equal opportunity for learning and special needs are adequately addressed.

Resource usage. The resources within the school are currently under-utilised. It is recommended that more use be made of human resources, in respect of their involvement with the school strategy and the delegation process. In terms of other resources, the introductions of extra-curricular activities will benefits pupils directly and, through other external activities, would increase the funds available to the school managers.

Curriculum. It is recommended that a higher level of homework activity is introduced and also that the subjects within the curriculum are extended. The effect of this will be to improve the pupil's level of knowledge and standard of education and improve their opportunities in future life.

Conclusion

It is our opinion that, whilst there are some problems within St Richard's school in terms of leadership, special needs and resource usage, if the suggested recommendations are implemented the school will be able to implement all of the recommendations set out within the governments Every Child Matters agenda. These recommendations are intended to add value at all points of the educational process chain and, as a result, will improve the schools performance.
